To transform culture by continuously guiding the school community to “show up” positively for themselves and others, increasing student engagement, achievement, and campus-wide well-being through our digital platform.
To show up positively for ourselves and others because our day depends on us.
Danna Evans is the founder and CEO of AVA School Solutions, a software company that assists schools with state mandates. In 2015, at the request of three schools, AVA School Solutions created All Things E.Q. Brainstorming with over 40 teachers, from three different schools, All Things E.Q. listened to how to best support teachers.
“Every idea, addition, add on and offering had to be held up to our most important tenant: Does this support our teachers, or does this give them more to do? If we gave our teachers more to do, we wouldn’t be helping.”
All Things E.Q. is based on the same idea as airplanes. In an airplane, we oxygenate the parent first so they can better assist the children.
We like to think we support the teacher, so the teacher can assist the students. Teachers are heroes and they do so much. They need our assistance, not our direction. Helping teachers do what they do, is why All Things E.Q. is working in schools. We don’t interrupt education, we assist it!
For making a difference with school aged kids, All Things E.Q. was nominated for the Unity Award from MASK Magazine. AVA School Solutions was one of three companies to win the 1776 Challenge Cup in Arizona awarded by the Vice Mayor and was selected by AOL’s founder Steve Case from over hundreds of companies to present at the Rise of the Rest.
“Enabling students to bring their best to the world around them is what we hope to do with All Things E.Q. and watching them become incredible future leaders is why we do it!”
Marianne McMurrin, Director of Leadership
Teaching was something Marianne was born to do. After earning a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Arizona State University in 1996 and teaching for 13 years, she became a middle school principal and created award-winning middle schools in Arizona.
Explorer Middle School and Tempe Academy of International Studies showcase her ability to be visionary, creative, and innovative. Her guiding leadership transformed Explorer Middle School from a traditional school with an enrollment of 500 students into an attractive, student-centered, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) magnet school, one of the top rated schools in the Phoenix area for student achievement, currently filled to capacity at just under 1000 students.
Marianne’s capstone school was Tempe Academy of International Studies, the first International Baccalaureate School in the Tempe Elementary School District, a school Marianne started from the ground up in 2013. She received the Tempe Diablos Excellence in Education Award for Leadership in 2016 for her outstanding service and dedication to excellence at Tempe Academy.
After 31 successful years of service in education, Marianne is making a shift to explore new opportunities to serve in our world. She loves working with people and is interested in working on projects that will protect and preserve our world’s natural resources and the environment, advance scientific and technological innovation, advocate for people who need help, and mentor people who wish to see their fresh ideas turn into reality. It was on a 1986 backpacking trip through China that Marianne discovered her passion for travel. Since then, she has backpacked throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and South America. Marianne is currently writing her first book that captures her amazing travel adventures and beautiful photographs.
